Hello! I am originally from Utah, and studied music at Brigham Young University where I majored in Voice and Piano. Whilst there, I performed with the BYU Acapella Choir, Chamber Choir, and Church Choir. In addition to that I sang with the Santa Clara Choral. I serve as a vocal coach, music director and piano teacher
I have over 20 years of experience working with people of all ages, and levels from beginner to advanced intermediate.
I have experience in vocal coaching for musical theater, opera and even country music.
To whom it may concern:
This letter is my recommendation for Connie Post as a Music Educator. My youngest daughter was a beginning piano student of Connie’s over 20 yrs ago. Connie helped instill the love for music that my daughter continues to cherish. She taught her basic to intermediate piano skills. Connie was very kind and patient which was so helpful in those early years. My daughter still loves playing the piano and now the organ on some occasions. Thank you Connie.
Sincerely,
C.M.

Connie Watts Post was born in Provo, Utah, to Redone A Watts and Bernice Constance Peay. Upon her birth, they resided in a modest home with a picturesque view of the Rocky Mountains and ample land for Connie's youthful exploration. Notably, her cherished cousin and friend, Elaine Aston Shurleff, recalls Connie's lively energy and passion for singing during her early childhood. Connie's educational journey included attendance at Hillcrest Elementary School, where she studied piano under the tutelage of Florence Britstch, Robert Smith, and Ronald Stayley. Subsequently, she progressed through BY Junior High School, Lincoln Jr. High School, and Orem High School.
It was during her 13th year that Connie's vocal talents manifested prominently. Fondly reminiscing about her collaboration with various public school instructors, she acknowledges the invaluable lessons she gleaned from figures like Edward Sandgren at Orem High School and Newell K. Dayley, her church choir director who also directed the BYU Jazz Band and held renown as a church composer. Connie, displaying a proactive attitude, sought mentorship by engaging with the most accomplished singer in her church choir, posing questions and absorbing knowledge. Under the guidance of Edward Sandgren, she ventured into vocal competitions, consistently securing top awards. Armed with familiarity with local competitions, Connie successfully auditioned for the BYU Acapella choir, earning a coveted vocal scholarship.
A noteworthy achievement is Connie being the sole recipient of a Vocal Scholarship from Orem High in the year of her graduation. Her father facilitated her pursuit of excellence by enlisting the expertise of Margret Barclay Woodward, the spouse of Dr. Ralph Woodward and a distinguished teacher between Salt Lake City and Provo. Margret, after Connie's initial audition, recognized her as a natural singer with potential requiring dedicated effort. At BYU, Connie, leveraging a solid foundation of ten years of piano instruction, dedicated herself predominantly to vocal studies. She concurrently participated in the BYU Acapella Choir, Chamber Choir, and Opera Workshop, balancing rigorous commitments.
In subsequent years, Connie, alongside her husband Greg, raised five children in the Bay Area and El Dorado County, California. The couple now gratefully embraces the role of grandparents to 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a majority of whom were born within a ten-year span. Connie's involvement in musical pursuits extended to engagements with the Santa Clara Chorale in the Bay Area and a decade-long tenure with the Cantare Chamber Choir in El Dorado County. Her multifaceted contributions included serving as the music director and vocal and piano instructor at Dance Expressions. Additionally, she offered private lessons in her home, showcased her soprano talents in various performances of the Messiah, in musical theater, and enjoyed a collaborative partnership with Dr. Reid Nibley, an Emeritus Music Professor at BYU.
Following a brief period dedicated to caring for elderly parents, during which Connie accommodated a limited number of students, she announces the imminent reopening of her studio, effective February 6th, 2024.
